What Causes Gray Hair

Scientists from the University of London have discovered why some people hair possessions, and some do not settle.

We always somehow assumed that the appearance of gray hair genetically predetermined, but recently scientists from the University of London published the results of studies which claim that there is a gene that affects hair color change.

Known as IRF4, this gene with which scientists are already familiar and which was the cause of blue and bright hair in people of European origin, is responsible for regulating the production of melanin. As we age, IRF4 produces less than normal amounts of melanin, which leads to the appearance of gray hair.

And now, when we know which gene is responsible for the appearance of gray hair, maybe have a solution. So instead we’ll have to paint the hair in order to cover the sitting, theoretically speaking, we may be able to use pills that increase production of the gene IRF4.

In Newsweek magazine also points out that this knowledge could be applied in the field of forensics where DNA is used in solving the cases.
