Dukan Diet

Dukan diet conquer the world. Thanks to the magic words, “You can eat as much as you want” and promises of quick weight loss and long-term weight maintenance diet of the prominent French nutritionist Dr. Pierre Dukan gets increasing popularity.

Claims that Penelope Cruz, Jennifer Lopez and Gisele Bundchen using Dukan diet to take out weight gained in pregnancy, as well as rumors that Catherine Middleton and her mother before royal wedding shaped their bodies with this diet contributed diet recommended by Dukan become absolute world hit.


WHAT DUKAN DIET?

Dukan diet recommends a diet rich in protein and intake of small amounts of fats and carbohydrates. It is very similar to the diet of Dr. Atkins and is often called the French Atkins diet.

The foundation on which Dukan builds protein diet is called day. At least once a week should consume only protein, Dr. Dukan recommends that day is Thursday.

During the diet you can eat unlimited allowable types of food, so the good side is that you will never feel hungry and do not need to count calories.

Popular book of Dukan warns that due to the intake of a lot of protein and minimal amounts of carbohydrates, the diet can cause bad breath, constipation, fatigue and dry mouth.

ESSENCE OF DUKAN DIET

Dukan diet is based on four stages. The first two lead to rapid weight loss, and the latter two focus on long-term maintenance of the slim line for the lost kilos never to return.

Phase 1: Attack

Protein, protein, protein … that’s what Dukhan proposes a compulsory part of the first phase. It is recommended to eat chicken and turkey meat, and avoid pork and lamb. It is best to discard meat with skin and wings. Also, it is allowed in your diet to get the eggs, fish and shellfish, soy and not fat dairy products (except cheese). During this phase you need every day to drink at least 1.5 liters of water, enter one and a half tablespoon of oat flakes and walking at least 20 minutes.
Duration: 1-10 days.

Results: According to Dukan, most people remain at this stage for five days and lose 2-3 kg.

2. Phase: Liner

It is said that this phase is the actual weight, or that part of the diet that should reach the desired appearance of the body. During the cruise phase takes one day to eat only protein (as in the first phase), then one day protein + vegetables, so again only protein, again protein + vegetables etc. Permitted vegetables like tomatoes, broccoli, eggplant, spinach, beet, cucumber, onion, pumpkin, mushrooms, radishes, leeks. Duration: Until you reach the desired weight.

Phase 3: Consolidation
